Engineering Lab Technician

Amick Brown is seeking an experienced Engineering Lab Technician for our direct client.

Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Duration: 11 Months. 

Job Description
  • This position will be responsible for providing Engineering Technician support for the Electrical Engineering department.
  • This includes circuit board rework, building cables and harnesses, and maintaining the Electrical Engineering Lab.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • This position has responsibility and authority for:
  • Support the Electrical Engineering department with Technician tasks.
  • Rework circuit boards.
  • Build cables and harnesses.
  • Build electrical and mechanical prototype for engineers.
  • Maintain the Electrical Engineering Lab including ordering and organizing components.
  • Manage the calibration of lab test equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on lab tools.
  • Perform other Engineering Technician duties as needed.
Required Skills
  • Competency is based on: education, training, skills and experience.
  • In order to adequately perform the responsibilities of this position the individual must:
  • Expert hand soldering skills.
  • Expert through-hole and surface mount rework skills (0402 Package Footprint Size preferred).
  • Troubleshooting skills to the component level.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and basic computer skills.
  • Experience with standard electrical hand tools.
  • Experience with reading and understanding electrical schematic and layout tools.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of electronic components and hardware.
  • Hands-on technician abilities with the proven ability to work well in team environment.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Associate’s Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent practical with 5+ years of experience.
