Amick Brown is seeking an experienced Data Scientist II for our direct client. Location: Remote, MI Duration: 6 Months Estimated pay range: $48 - $60 an hour per client contract and candidate skills, experience and work location.
Job Description
Research Data Scientist II will be responsible for supporting analytical research activities for customer analytics solutions, hospital channel marketing and market access.
The research data scientist II will be the data technical expert in algorithm development and research tool solutions around hospital exported electronic health record data.
Responsibilities include setting up the analytic data files for further analysis, documenting/validating algorithm, and platform development/versioning, managing the analytic tool in various analytic platforms including R, SQL, Snowflake and assuring their integrity.
Additional responsibilities include training users of the analytic platforms, the various developed databases and investigation of database use case feasibility assessments as well as working/managing external partners for database and analytic platforms.
Roles and Responsibilities
Develop tools to filter/clean/sort, re-structure raw electronic medical record data, hospital cost accounting data, hospital billing & claims data and operating room management data.
Performs analyses of large healthcare databases (e.g., insurance claims, electronic medical records).
Design tools and algorithms for evidence needs of HEOR and Global Access, Value & Economics (GAVE).
Hosting retrieve, maintain, and update large databases. Work with Database Engineering and Analysis (DE&A) team for hosting the external large database in house.
Continued database maintenance, ongoing data updates and algorithm development.
Develop analytical infrastructure to enable the automation process of analytic and research solutions.
Develop, validate, and document programming for different algorithms in RWD database assets.
Develop, manage, and track the Snowflake, SQL, R code banks.
Develop working instructions/ training guidelines and oversee revisions /updates to current WIs/training guidelines for programming activities
Training and education of analytical infrastructure and RWD assets for new hires.
Work with regional GAVE, Market Access & Customer Analytics (MACA), HEOR teams to identify RWD in support of research strategy in region.
Required Skills
Master’s degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, health economics, epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, or related field.
A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in statistical programing (R, SQL) and cloud-based data warehouse (e.g., Snowflake).
Experience in back end hospital EHR reporting and dashboard creation. Experience with EPIC and/or Cerner reporting preferred.
Experience in designing the documentation framework and delivering clear, easy to follow data, variable, and code documentation files.
Experience in building analytical tools in R and R Shiny.
Proficient in SQL and R, experience in R Shiny is also preferred.
Outstanding ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Enjoy collaborative work; a natural team worker but also can work independently.
Highly self-motivated, hardworking, and have intuition on conducting research; able to execute high quality HEOR projects and get them published in top tier journals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum Master with 4+ years of experience or PhD with 2+ HEOR related observational study design, implementation, analysis, and publication
Record of publications in health economics, health services research, or clinical journals
Advanced knowledge of R, R Markdown and R Shiny
Advanced knowledge in analyzing large, real world healthcare databases
