AWS Architect

Amick Brown is seeking an AWS Architect who will architect, design, and implement new cloud infrastructure in a timely fashion. You will work within a team of subject matter experts on cloud-related technologies, focusing on developing and building security architecture and guidelines to manage hybrid Cloud Infrastructure. Must have 10+ years of experience. 

  • Architect, design, and implement new cloud infrastructure in AWS
  • Assessing migration feasibility, identifying dependencies & driving proof-of-concepts (POC’s)
  • Perform cloud readiness assessments and lead cloud architecting sessions with business and technology owners
  • Develop clear installation and configuration procedures, runbooks and wiki to the maintenance of operational standards
  • Use automation tools to migrate workloads to AWS
  • Work with a small project team as a hands-on leader in building and configuration of AWS infrastructure
  • Lead the project lifecycle from planning and design, through deployment, configuration, and migration
  • Build a Center of Operational Excellence using industry best practices for Cloud deployment and DevOps transformation
  • Provide leadership and management for day-to-day operations of the Cloud Services function during migration of company applications and workloads to the hybrid Cloud
  • Take ownership of Backup, DR and BCP
  • Engaging with development, infrastructure, security and IT operations teams at a customer and identifying repeatable patterns and architectures for cloud migration.
  • Overseeing compliance with IT policies and security standards
  • Work with other technical architects and businesses to develop and build security architecture and guidelines to manage hybrid Cloud infrastructures

  • A Bachelor’s degree; Masters/MBA degree.
  • 10+ years of experience. 
  • Experience in Datacenter Architecture, Cloud Architectures, (AWS preferred), Migration strategies and best practices.
  • Hands on experience with AWS services like EC2, VPC, S3, Route 53, ELB, Elastic Beanstalk, AutoScaling CloudFormation and databases
  • Strong leadership capabilities, having the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and technical teams
  • Experience in leading data center or cloud migration projects.
  • Experience in architecting complex use cases leveraging AWS services and multi-vendor environment technologies
  • Has demonstrated leadership experience in leading engineering or operational teams
  • Prior experience in designing, building, and operating public cloud infrastructure
  • Hands on experience of Microsoft Windows based server infrastructures including Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 and MS SQL
  • Ability to design high availability applications on AWS across availability zones and availability regions
  • Knowledge of monitoring, logging and cost management tools that integrate with AWS
  • Experience delivering security architectures meeting one or more of the following security standards: NIST/FedRAMP, ISO 27001, ISO 27002, PCI DSS, HIPAA Security Rule
  • Strong presentation and written communication skills; high degree of comfort with technical and Executive audiences

Nice to have:

Familiarity with key DevOps and SRE processes
Prior experience in developing Cloud Formation Scripts for AWS Orchestration, Chef and/or Puppet, Python.
Prior experience in architecting cloud first applications on AWS.
Prior experience in automated build pipeline, continuous integration, and continuous deployment
Familiarity or hands on experience working with AWS Gov Cloud
